  Wednesday 7th July, 2010

G'day Reel Time friends and customers,

I hope that you have all been keeping well and warm during these last few freezing weeks. Here at Reel Time we have been enjoying a well deserved break and the boys have had a chance to catch up on some serious game fishing! But snapper season is just around the corner, in fact it is only 80 sleeps until the AFL grand final, which traditionally marks the beginning of the season.

10% OFF EARLY BIRD CHARTER SPECIAL

We are now taking bookings for the October, November, December snapper season... If you book a group or individual charter before September 1st you will receive a 10% early bird discount! Call Mel on 0438 302 093 for more details.

SNAPPER SEASON 2010

It's almost that time of year again and Matt Cini & Matt Boulton will be back on the water in October, all geared up for three months of mayhem otherwise known as SNAPPER SEASON!! It is at this time of year when Port Phillip bay becomes abundant with masses of snapper making their way into the bay to spawn!

The Reel Time skippers have gained a deservedly huge reputation for getting their customers on the fish day after day and bookings for this time of year fill up fast with some weekends already nearing capacity. Don't miss out on a Reel Time experience... book now by calling 0438 302 093 to secure a date, particularly if you want both boats (up to 14 people) or a weekend date.

INTRODUCING THE NEW AND IMPROVED REEL TIME #2

When we re-launch in October for snapper season 2010, we will have the pleasure of introducing the new and improved Reel Time #2. As much as we loved the Cootacraft, it soon became apparent that although it was in survey for six people, it was really only comfortable for 4-5 people at best. The walkaround style deck on the 6.8m Noble Super Vee makes it the perfect boat for soft plastics fishing, especially when targeting snapper and squid.

The Noble is a walkaround, complete with hardtop and a large deck area that will carry up to six people very comfortably

Reel Time #1 is still going strong and comfortably seats up to eight people. She has recently had a bit of a makeover after some recent cosmetic damage and is looking a treat!

SCHOOL HOLIDAYS

The kids were getting restless so Matt decided to brave the cold and take the boys squid fishing off Mornington today. There was plenty of action between them getting a dozen in the boat!

Prawn and Squid Linguine on the menu for the Cini's tomorrow night!

PORTLAND & PORT FAIRY

After much demand from our regular customers over the years, Reel Time decided it was ready to charter out at Portland and Port Fairy in search of the much desired Southern bluefin tuna. We had many successful trips and were fortunate that most of our customers were flexible and we were able to pick the best weather patterns for safety and productivity. Reel Time will continue to conduct these charters in the months of May, June and July from now on. BERMAGUI

A couple of weeks ago Matt Cini, Matt Boulton and Matt's dad, Roger headed up to Bermagui after hearing reports of BIG bluefin being caught. After two days of pretty dismal fishing, the boys were almost ready to pack it in but gave it one last shot and ended up with a triple hook up and an awesome capture of a 90kg and a 70kg bluefin. The crew were over the moon to say the least, and we have been eating tuna ever since!!

Tuesday 8th June, 2010

Hi there Reel Time friends and customers,

I have just returned from a week in Port Fairy, where the tuna fishing has been exceptional and will continue to be for the next month or so. Our catches were all around the 15-20kg mark and I also heard reports of a few 100+kg caught by recreational anglers.

We are planning another trip for this coming long weekend as the weather forecast is looking great. If you are keen to catch a Blue Fin tuna, then just give Mel a call on 0438 302 093 to make a booking. Now is the time to go while they are running hot!!

Cheers,

Matt Cini

G'day Reel Time friends and customers,

The customers that made the voyage to Port Fairy this week were not disappointed with roughly 40 fish between 15-30kg caught over the last three days. Matt has described it as world class fishing at the moment and confident that we will see plenty more "barrels" (100kg+) around!

G'day Reel Time friends and customers,

If you haven't heard that it's tuna season then you may as well be living under a rock, because it has been the most publicised season that I have ever seen! World records have been broken and so many people that I know have achieved their P.B in this last week alone. It's in the papers, on the news and all over the internet because we have never seen anything like it before! Check out Fishing Fever's online report to see just how HOT the action is http://www.fishingfever.com.au/fishing-reports.html

Thursday 15th April, 2010

G'day Reel Time friends and customers,

I hope you all had a fantastic Easter long weekend! We headed up to Portland with family and friends for the break, and although the weather wasn't flash for fishing, we enjoyed just being able to relax and unwind for a few days... well the girls and I did anyway LOL! Matt, Jason, Dave and Aleks were up at the crack of dawn everyday and managed to get out in pretty ordinary conditions on three out of the four days. Unfortunately, the boys didn't get onto any tuna, in fact there were only a couple caught over the entire weekend, but they did land some monster whiting in close!!

Back home, the weather has been up and down and we have been shifting between Port Phillip bay and Western Port depending on weather patterns and what's biting best!

The biggest catch of the week was this 5.8kg snapper caught by Reel Time customer, Charlie

Happy 18th birthday to Reel Time veteran, Richard!!

Providing the conditions are right, snapper fishing in Port Phillip bay is back on in a big way!

Western Port continues to provide great bags of whiting, salmon, pinkies & more...

Reel Time will be taking a break over the chillier months of June, July, August and September. We are operating seven days a week in April and weekends only in May, so if you want to get out for a fish then please don't hesitate to call Reel Time Fishing Charters on 0438 302 093 to book a date now!

Check booking calendar for availability https://www.appointment.com/customer/calendar.php OR for individuals availability just follow this link http://www.reeltimefishing.com.au/fishing-charters.php?charter_id=11

Wednesday 24th March, 2010

Hi there Reel Time friends and customers,

The fishing has been insane this month and some days we simply can't decide what to fish for! The snapper are back on in PPB, KG whiting is still abundant in Western Port with only the odd quiet day, Striped tuna have unexpectedly hit our waters out at Bass Strait plus gummies, squid, garfish, and more... You name it and it's probably out there!

From striped tuna to gummies and everything in between, the last fortnight has been a fisherman's dream!

Marlon was keen to get out for a fish on his birthday with Mum, Dad and Blake, and the day couldn't have been better with calm, sunny conditions and tuna galore in Bass Strait!

Bass Strait Striped Tuna

We have even been catching Striped Tuna in Bass Strait for the last couple of weeks. This is not a regular occurence and we don't know how long it will last. If you are interested in doing an offshore stripey charter then give us a call on 0438 302 093 for more info. Charters depart from Hastings and weather conditions need to be ideal to get offshore. There is a slight surcharge to cover extra fuel costs.

It's such a nice change to do an offshore trip, the wildlife is extrodinary and dolphins, birds and seals are a regular sighting

Port Phillip Bay Snapper

The snapper are back on in a BIG way in Port Phillip bay! We have been bagging out on good size fish up to 6kg and we should expect to see this until at least the end of April.

Reel Time customer, John and skipper, Matt Cini after a good morning run on the snapper

Western Port Whiting

This is the best whiting season in Western Port that I have ever seen! Whiting are still very popular with majority of charters producing 40-70+ fish around the 38cm mark, but some up to 50cm. Whiting is by far one of the most enjoyable ways of fishing in the bay with plenty of action and in my opinion, the best eating!

Fishin' Trip

The fishing has been red HOT so JK bought the camera crew to film a couple of segments for Fishin' Trip. On one trip, we were joined by Hawks; Jordan Lewis, Jordan Lisle & Liam Shiels for a session on the stripies offshore. Unfortunately, the tuna got camera shy, but the day was not lost with three good size gummy sharks caught on the way back in!

Earlier in the week, we got onto the whiting with very good results. Episodes of Fishin' Trip will air on Southern Cross TEN or go to their website for more info www.fishintrip.com.au

After filming a KG whiting segment for Fishin' Trip

The kids are on school holidays and just a few more charters to go and then we will be packing up and heading to Portland with family and friends for the Easter break. I cannot wait and will hopefully have many pictures to share with you of some awesome Southern Blue Fin Tuna on our return!

As far as bookings go, weekends for April are nearly full and midweek is fast filling up as well. Individual charters are available @ $125 p.p and bookings are based on 'Whatever is biting best' basis departing from either Carrum or Hastings. You will be notified of what is on the HOT bite a couple of days before your charter.

Check out our individuals timetable for availability, and please feel free to suggest a date to us and we may be able to create an individual charter for the date you require http://www.reeltimefishing.com.au/fishing-charters.php?charter_id=11 OR check out our calendar for group booking availability https://www.appointment.com/customer/calendar.php

Have a safe and happy easter!

Cheers, Matt Cini

Friday 12th March, 2010

Hi there Reel Time friends and customers,

Another great week of fishing! The weather was pretty bad over the weekend and we didn't end up getting out on Saturday, but aside from that the KG whiting are still hot on the bite and plenty of numbers coming in with 45-48cm being the norm.

Reel Time regular, Colin has come in with the goods and the catch of the week again! ... This KG whiting was also a Reel Time PB and measured in at 50cm!

On Monday morning's individual charter, we got the first 50cm whiting caught on Reel Time for 2010 by Colin Sires. Well done mate! This fish was awesome to see and a great feeling inside to know that we have caught roughly 5000 over the season to see just one of this size! For those who have achieved this.. I salute you! like in AC/DC lol

The fun doesn't stop for Reel Time customers, Helen & Terry who caught their bag of whiting on an individual charter and then cooked up a storm!

YUM!!!

I went out for a fish with good mates Jarrod Day and Aleks 'The Apprentice' Matik... We got a lovely bag in just two hours and Jarrod got some great pics for an upcoming article
